Video Poker is a beloved game that can be gambled on in casinos across the world, or alternatively at home on your home computer, through a web account. The regulations are very simple and involve the player trying to get the highest combination of cards possible in order to win money. In this respect it is much the same as a classic game of poker, minus the line of contact with any other players. Of course, tactics used in a real-life game of poker, such as bluffing, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.

The game of Video Poker begins when the gambler puts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or cash) into the machine and pushes the draw button. A hand of five cards will then be electronically ‘dealt’ on the screen.

The Video Poker machine also has hold buttons, and enthusiasts should now choose which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the gambler wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they wish, whether it’s all or none.

After the bettor has chosen which cards he would like to retain, they should press ‘deal’, at which point any new cards are needed they will be handed out. The round is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.

Normally, the lowest winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money getting larger for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the payout schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that experienced players are agile enough to choose the most beneficial game each and every instance.

As soon as the initial round has played out, the player can either choose to remain on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any cash that they may have won. Additionally, a few versions of the game allow the gambler a chance to increase their wins, in which case a further round is played. There are also differences between individual machines, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying elements to enhance playability.
